Haiti
Disaster Relief
We are coordinating relief efforts following the recent earthquake that devastated Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The earthquake has left millions in need. We are establishing the areas that we can be of the greatest help with our contacts in Haiti and here in the US.
The plan is to allow the time for the government and military to establish a safe infrastructure for distribution of food, water, and medical supplies. With your help we will do all that we can to help those in need.
Philippines
Search and Rescue
During disasters, such as the recent typhoons, we utilize our Search & Rescue vehicles to mobilize relief efforts. We provide medical supplies, meals for the hungry, clothing, transportation, as well as volunteer disaster relief teams and supplies.
What separates us from other relief organizations is what we do in between disaster relief efforts. Rather than keeping our vehicles parked, we work with the local government and hospitals to provide free ambulance services for the poor and transportation for wounded soldiers. We also utilize the vehicles to provide some of the other services listed below.
Medical Relief
GR41 works with local governments to provide free medical and dental to needy people who would otherwise go untreated. We provide medicine and transportation for these efforts as well as volunteer workers.
Meals for Children
GR41 has had the privilege of providing meals to poor and malnourished children. When funds are available we try to find areas where the need is greatest and provide a hot meal for as many children as possible, which for some is the only hot meal they will receive all week.
South Africa
Orphanages
GR41 provides funding and meals for orphanages in rural areas of South Africa. These orphanages are generally comprised of children whose parents have died of AIDS.
Uganda
Clean Water
GR41 is currently researching ways to provide communities in Uganda with better quality and easily accessible drinking water. In rural Africa, many women and children walk 6k (3.7 miles) to get water and then carry it home. The lack of simple things like clean water and proper hygiene cause thousands of cases of sickness and death each year.
Economic Development
Along with clean water, GR41 is working to provide the people in rural areas of Uganda with the information and tools they need to grow their economy by teaching them to use their skills in livestock and farming.
